Coming Back into the U.S. From Canada
When you return to the U.S. from a trip to Canada, the Customs Officer's role is to identify you and inquire about any products being imported to the U.S. With the proper paperwork it is a quick and simple process. Until July of 2009, the most common documents that may be needed are a Driver's License and Birth Certificate. Information on other forms of identification can be found on the links below.

July of 2009 (maybe) will bring some changes to the identification used at the border. The changes will make border crossing even more efficient than it is currently. The most common identification needed at that time will be a Passport Card. Getting a Passport Card is easy.
